Enjoy Now, Worship Later

Published

on

Don’t get sucked into the trap of the devil, the idea that you enjoy now, worship later.

When you are young, you have the strength and ability to achieve great things, why spend this one-time opportunity in the disobedience of Allah?

Similarly, your health, wealth and time are all a test from Allah, and an account will surely be taken.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Take advantage of five before five: Your youth before your old age, your health before your
illness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death.”

Do You Converse With Allah?

Published

on

When such a beautiful exchange occurs every time we stand for prayer, how can we not enjoy it and look forward to it earnestly?

Abu Huraira reported that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said:

If anyone observes prayer in which he does not recite Umm al-Qur’an (al-Fatiha), It is deficient [he said this three times] and not complete. It was said to Abu Huraira: At times we are behind the Imam. He said: Recite it inwardly, for he had heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) declare that Allah the Exalted had said: I have divided the prayer into two halves between Me and My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks. When the servant says: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the universe, Allah the Most High says: My servant has praised Me. And when he (the servant) says: The Most Compassionate, the Merciful, Allah the Most High says: My servant has lauded Me. And when he (the servant) says: Master of the Day of judgement, He remarks: My servant has glorified Me. and sometimes He would say: My servant entrusted (his affairs) to Me. And when he (the worshipper) says: Thee do we worship and of Thee do we ask help, He (Allah) says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks for. Then, when he (the worshipper) says: Guide us to the straight path, the path of those to whom Thou hast been Gracious not of those who have incurred Thy displeasure, nor of those who have gone astray, He (Allah) says: This is for My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks for.

🏢 Is your structure upright?

Published

on

To ensure our individual structures are upright, we must revisit the pillars upon which we stand and carefully perfect and strengthen them.

On the authority of Abdullah, the son of Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra), who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Islam has been built on five [pillars]: testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the salah (prayer), paying the zakat (obligatory charity), making the hajj (pilgrimage) to the House, and fasting in Ramadhan.” [Bukhari & Muslim]
